Martin is a Manchester based casting director working on commercials, films, music videos and television.


Originally from the North-East (and a Middlesbrough F.C. fan) he set up Martin Gibbons Casting in 2011 and has since worked on over 500 various projects.


Television work includes Paul Abbott’s WOLFE for Sky and AbbotVision with Kharmel Cochrane as well as The VAR Room for Amazon Prime


Awards include three British Arrows Award for Casting: CBEEBIES ‘DIFFERENCES’ (with Kharmel Cochrane, 2017); SPORT ENGLAND ‘THIS GIRL CAN’ (with Leanne Flinn, 2018) and BT SPORT ‘TAKE THEM ALL ON’ (with Leanne Flinn 2019). He was also nominated for the 2020 British Arrows for BRITISH HEART FOUNDATION ‘BOY’.  In 2028 Martin cast the 2018 SLAUGHTERBOTS viral which won several awards including a Gold Dolphin at the Cannes Film Festival. 

Martin has received nominations for 'Best Casting in a Commercial' at the 2019 CDG Awards for the WAITROSE 'SNOWED IN' Christmas' commercial (with Dan Hubbard CDG & Claire Catterson); received two nominations at the 2020 CDG Awards for the MCCAIN 'DIFFERENCES' and the BRITISH HEART FOUNDATION 'BOY' commercials and was nominated along with Kharmel Cochrane for the DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION 'EVERY LESSON SHAPES A LIFE 2' at the 2021 Awards.

Martin is a member of the CDG and also artistic director of Monkeywood Theatre Company, directing and producing numerous shows including most recently ’The Manchester Project’ with HOME Manchester and the National Theatre.
